• Dual-Sealing Action: The four-lobed design creates two sealing surfaces on each side (four total contact points), providing more effective leak prevention with less compressive force compared to an O-ring's single contact point.
• Reduced Friction and Wear: Because the X-ring requires less radial squeeze to form a seal, it generates less friction, which in turn reduces wear and leads to a longer service life.
• Resistance to Twisting: The X-shape offers higher stability in the groove, which helps to prevent the seal from rolling or twisting (spiral failure) during reciprocating or rotating movements, a common issue with O-rings in dynamic applications.
